T.A.O. Ignite is a high-energy evening of 5-minute talks by local people who have a burning idea and the guts to get onstage and share their personal and professional passions. Quick, fun, thought-provoking, social, local, and global - Ignite is all of these and more.
I was honored to be chosen as one of the presenters. My talk, titled "Sparking Curiosity and Confidence: STEAM Education for the Future" discussed lessons learned from a Makerspace Summer camp for middle school girls as ways to transform a traditional STEM classroom.
I also touched on ways that industry can affect change in education, based on the work that I've been doing with Lane STEM and Connected Lane County.
